Q: How do I turn my Trakdot off or on?
    A: There is only one button for turning the device on and off and it is orange in color and located in the center of the device.
To turn the device on: hold the button in for 5 seconds. The red light will flash several times. Once the device has successfully registered to the cellular network, the green light will flash.
To shut the device off: hold the power button in for 5 seconds. The light will flash several times then shut off.


Q: How do I check the status of my device?
    A: To check the current status, quickly press the power button. The color of the light will indicate the status.
Green: The device has successfully registered with the network.
Red: The device is currently not registered to the network.
Blue: The device is currently in sleep mode and will retry to connect to the cellular network.


Q: What do the different color lights mean?
    A: The different colors indicate the device's status.
Green: The device has successfully registered with the network.
Red: The device is currently not registered to the network.
Blue: The device is currently in sleep mode and will retry to connect to the cellular network.


Q: How will I know if or when the batteries need replaced?
    A: There is a battery level indicator inside each notification message.

Q: Are there any countries in which the device will not operate?
    A: The device will not operate in countries where GSM does not function. At this time there are two (2) countries where GSM does not function: Japan, South Korea. However, from time to time cellular carrier coverage can be interrupted or goes down for period of time.


Q: Is there a specific brand of battery recommended for the device?
    A: Duracell Alkaline Batteries. CAUTION: DO NOT USE LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES


Q: Are there any types of luggage in which the device will not function?
    A: Depending on the thickness and quality of “all metal” luggage, the device may not be able to effectively communicate. Any other luggage is not an issue.


Q: Does the device need to be specifically positioned inside the luggage or can I simply just toss it in?
    A: There is no specific positioning inside the luggage required.


Q: When I am not using the device, should the batteries be removed?
    A: Yes. It is recommended

Q: I can't turn my trakdot on, what should I do?
    A: Please replace the batteries in your device with fresh alkaline batteries. CAUTION: DO NOT USE LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
